  A :carbon-ceramic brake disc is not a simple mixture of carbon fiber and ceramic, but a composite material formed through sophisticated processes:

Core Base Material: A preform woven from carbon fibers forms the "framework" of the disc, providing toughness and impact resistance.

  • Matrix Filling: Silicon Carbide (SiC) ceramic material is used to fill the pores of the carbon fiber framework via Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI) or Liquid Infiltration (LI) technology, creating a dense structure.
  • Surface Coating: A coating of tungsten carbide or ceramic is applied to the disc surface to address the high-temperature oxidation issue of carbon fibers and stabilize the friction coefficient at the same time.
